The Incident Management Unit oversees operations in a Search and Rescue incident. Members of IMU also coordinate resrouces and events on drills to make sure that there is accountability.
The Incident Management unit coordinates the resources needed, assigns those resources and documents the operations. On a search, there are many jobs to do and too often, not enough resources to do them. It is the job of Search Managers to allocate resources to do the most important jobs first.
